Right Thinking

‎"Every cell in our bodies communicates with every other cell; therefore an emotion, such as falling in love, is experienced not only in our hearts but also in every organ, muscle and tissue. Can you remember that wonderful feeling of being newly in love and having that love returned? Didn't you feel exuberant throughout your entire b...ody, not just in your heart?

Likewise, anger, sadness and guilt are felt throughout the body. These emotions weigh us down as if we are carrying a heavy load. Think back to an incident where you felt angry or sad. Didn't you also feel tired or slightly ill? Could there be a connection? Studies corroberate this linkage between emotions and good or poor health. Our emotions involve every cell and organ; therefore they affect our immune system. What does our immune system control? Our health. Hence, our emotions exert a powerful effect on our health." - Peggy Canning

Darwin's Perspective: Instead of thinking of yourself as a singularity that primarily identifies itself with that voice in your head, reconsider that you're conscious experience is the collective consciousness of your Body, Spirit and Mind. However, instead of just separating your active awareness into these different perspectives, consider that each of these parts of you is actually an intelligent component that, in combination, is "you."

And now understand that each of these parts is connected and impacted by the other parts. Thus your physical Body's state impacts your Spirit. And so too the mental state of your Mind impacts your Body. Each of these parts are interconnected and the resulting "you" is a fusion of Body, Spirit and Mind.

Thus rather than simply focusing on "right thinking" where we seek to regulate our thoughts and emotions (e.g. "just think positive thoughts"), instead recognize that emotions are one of the dimensions by which energy and information travels within your collective consciousness. So instead of avoiding emotions and trying to control them, instead let them flow without holding onto them. Thus don't beat yourself up over something making you angry (e.g. I shouldn't get angry), simply accept the emotion and then let it go (e.g. don't stay angry). The result is that the energy that is contained in emotions will thus flow through you instead of into you.
